DEAR EDITOR:
The National Voter Registration Act requires states to maintain clean voter registration rolls. Judicial Watch, a non-partisan organization dedicated to government transparency and election integrity, has filed multiple lawsuits against states that fail to purge their rolls. Florida is one.
Florida reported 173,000 deaths in years 2009 and 2010. Yet, election officials had removed only 4,500 dead people from their rolls. Right away they identified 2,700 non-citizens registered to vote. Press reports suggest the number of non-citizen voters in Florida alone may total 180,000.
Shortly after Florida began this purging process, the Justice Department filled an emergency injunction to halt it. A federal judge, however, blocked this move and ordered Homeland Security to grant Florida election officials access to the federal citizenship database.
Recently databases document that most likely one out of eight registrations are either no longer valid or inaccurate. Ohio and Pennsylvania are among the ten states named by Judicial Watch as the biggest offenders.
The Justice Department has filed lawsuits against every state that has tried to pass photo I.D. laws. They are even trying to have the non-citizens check box taken off the voter registration forms. Yet, the Supreme Court has ruled that photo I.D. requirements are constitutional. Photo I.D. is certainly required to board a plane or to cash a check at many places.
The Justice Department claims that any voter ID requirement is racist and biased against the poor, welfare recipients, and those who do not drive. Now, anyone who wants to vote can get a photo I.D. from the local Bureau of Motor Vehicles with proper documentation.
According to Judicial Watch, Obama's Justice Department is forcing states to recruit citizens on public assistance by mass mailings. It is also protecting illegal aliens' sanctuary laws (in some states) to encourage non-citizen votes and hiring thousands of lawyers to challenge voter registrations and voting results that are not favorable to the president. Is the Obama gang trying to neutralize your vote to win (steal) the election?
