AUTHOR DISCUSSES ORGANIZED CRIME: Organized crime historian and author Allan R. May will lead a panel discussion with guests Lynn B. Griffith and Bruce Birrell at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. In his book "Welcome to the Jungle Inn," May, of Cleveland, shares the story of the infamous gambling den in a rural corner of Trumbull County and its near tragic demise in 1949. The discussion will center on some of the key figures and activities from the past associated with the gambling spot and how law enforcement and the legal system fought to stop corruption. May will have copies of his book available for purchase at the program, which is free.
