NILES - Donald E. Galgozy Sr., 77, passed away at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at the Washington Square Nursing Home.
He was born on March 14, 1935, in Warren, the son of Stephen and Esther Phillips Galgozy.
Donald was a Navy veteran, serving on the USS Yorktown during the Korean War.

He retired in 1994 after working more than 18 years as a salesman for Tamarkin Wholesale Grocery.
He was of the Presbyterian Faith, a member of the Niles Eagles Club, and enjoyed gardening, fishing and carpentry.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan (Thomas) Conrad of White, Ga.; two sons, Steve Galgozy of Niles and Donald (Jessica) Galgozy Jr. of Warren; four grandchildren, Donald, Christopher, Amber and Jonathan; a brother, Richard (Ada Mae) Galgozy of Champion; two stepbrothers, John Galgozy of Warren and Ernie Galgozy of Niles; and a stepsister, Carol Jean (John) Young of Niles.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. (Munoz) Galgozy, whom he married on May 24, 1954, and who died Sept. 1, 2011; and a daughter, Deborah Lynn Ramsey, who died on March 14, 2009.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
