The Liberty Business Association partnered with the Liberty Schools PTA is sponsoring a Candidates/Issues Night Oct. 17 at the Liberty High School auditorium.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program starts at 7 p.m.
There are no offices for Liberty Township or the Board of Education on the ballot this year, however, there are two commissioners, one state house representative and one state senator up for election.
In addition to local and state candidates, four Liberty issues will be on the ballot. These issues include topics such as fracking, landfill and other topics within the authority of county and state representatives.
Included in the program is a discussion lead by one of the Liberty trustees who will explain the issues. Seven candidates, one trustee and five board of education members have been invited to attend the event. Each candidate will be given six unrestricted minutes to advocate for their positions. All elected office holders and candidates will be available in the cafeteria at their respective tables for one-on-one conversations with the public.
Light refreshments will be offered and security will be provided.
The public is invited to attend.
