CHAMPION FIRE HOLDS OPEN HOUSE: The Champion Township Fire Department, 139 Champion Ave., will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the fire station. The event will include door prizes, displays, demonstrations, food and tours of the fire station. The Stat Medivac helicopter will land around noon and be on the ground for tours for an hour.
FALL FESTIVAL SET: Windsor House, Mahoning Avenue, Champion, will hold its annual fall open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be gift baskets, food and fall-themed items.

TOWNSHIP PLANS TIRE COLLECTION: The Liberty scrap tire collection will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the parking lot of the township administration building. There is a limit of eight tires per residence. Passenger and light truck tires only. No tires with rims will be accepted.
COMMUNITY GROUP TO HEAR FROM FOUNDATION: The Southeast Side Community Association will meet at 6 p.m. today at the St. James White Hall, corner of Milton and Willard S.E. A representative from the Wean Foundation is scheduled to speak.
CLEANUP PLANNED BY GROUP: The Historic Perkins Homestead Neighborhood Association will hold its fall cleanup at 9 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Belmont and Mahoning. Bags, gloves, rakes and brooms will be available. The association will provide hot dogs and soft drinks to participants. Volunteers are needed.
HALLOWEEN BASH AT PARK: The Friends of the Mosquito Lake State Campgrounds will hold its fourth annual Halloween Bash with various events Friday to Sunday. The weekend will include a craft show, auction and car show from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. There will be activities for children. The campgrounds will hold a decorating contest. The event is being held earlier to avoid inclement weather.

Individuals can only sign up with one agency-church for Christmas assistance. If names are found on others agency lists, applications will not be accepted. Those needing assistance are to bring current photo identification, proof of all children and adults in household and proof of income.
