The work of local and internationally known designers will be showcased at the first Youngstown Fashion Week.

The event was created to spotlight local talent and boost the fashion industry in the region.

Local designers will be featured at ''All Dressed Up with Somewhere to Go,'' a runway show at 6 p.m. Friday at Youngstown State University in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center. The evening also will feature an exhibit and silent auction for designs by Nanette Lepore, a Youngstown native who has boutiques in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, Tokyo, London and other cities. Ticket are $15 for adults and $10 for students with VIP seating available for $20.

Events move to Eastwood Mall in Niles on Saturday, where a live mannequin showcase starts at 11 a.m., and attendees will have a chance to walk the runway at noon (registration for the runway begins at 10 a.m. Saturday)

Saturday's event also will include an appearance at 1 p.m. by Shannon Ratliff-Stewart, an Ohio native who was a finalist on the first season of ''America's Next Top Model'' and returned for the reality series' all-star edition. She has done print work for Tresemme, Jockey, Dillards, Speedo, Panasonic, Ford, Teen Vogue, Elle Girl, Allure and others as well as appearing on ''The Tyra Banks Show'' and ''Oprah.''
