Kay R. Bochert 1941-2012

SHARON, Pa. - Kay R. Bochert, 71, formerly a 40-year resident of Cortland, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on her 71st birthday Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at her home.

Kay was born in Dubois, Pa., on Sept. 16, 1941, the daughter of William L. and Jeanetta M. Watson Reber.

She had worked for Packard Electric in Warren for 34 years before her retirement in 1995.

Kay was a charter member of the Women of the Moose Lodge in Cortland, and had also served as past regent. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing darts with her family and friends.

Kay will be missed by her daughter, Janet L. (Leslie III) Smith of Sharon, Pa., with whom she made her home; her son, SFC Jason G.L. (Jackie) Bochert of Fort Campbell, Ky.; a brother, Ray L. (Pam) Reber of Youngstown; three beloved grandchildren, Sara and Allison Bochert and Levi E. Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert E. Bochert, who died March 9, 2008; two grandchildren, Matthew E. Bochert and Samantha Lynn Manley; three brothers, Duane, William and Ronald Reber; and by her sister, Evelyn Geer.

Funeral services for Kay will be held 5 p.m. Sunday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield, OH 44403, with the Rev. Rob McFarland, pastor of Chestnut Ridge Church of God, officiating.
