WARREN - Ryan R. Roddy, 19, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at the emergency room at St. Joseph Health Center.
He was born Nov. 21, 1992, the son of Gary F. Roddy and April Roddy Simms, and was the stepson of Martin J. Simms.
Ryan is survived by a half-sister, Carrie Anne Russo of Cortland; a stepbrother, Eyan T. Simms, and stepsister, Carly A. Simms, both of Warren; an aunt, Linda and uncle Bob Heinsohn of Lordstown; and uncle, Jeff Roddy of Illinois.

Ryan is also leaving behind cousins, many friends and a most beloved pet bunny, Dennis Hopper. Preceding him in death was a half-brother, Jeremy Roddy of Warren.
He was a 2011 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, where he excelled in the arts. He loved working in many mediums such as photography, watercolor, oils, pencil and ink drawing to name a few. Ryan won the governor's contest called the Shattered Perception in which his artwork was auctioned off for charity.
He also had his work displayed at the Eastwood Mall, and won two Silver Key awards from the McDonough Museum of Art in Youngstown.
Ryan worked at the Sunrise Restaurant for 2 1/2 years and also was self-employed as an artist.
Ryan loved music of all kinds, especially playing his guitar. He also loved animals of all kinds, and they seemed to love him, too. He was a strong supporter of animal charities.
Services are 3:30 p.m. today at McFarland & Son Funeral Home with cremation taking place at a later date. Friends may call from 2 to 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with services concluding at 4 p.m. Donations may be made during calling hours to the family or given to McFarland & Son Funeral Home to help defer the cost of the funeral.
