EVENT TO HELP RICH CENTER: The Art of Autism will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Enzo's, 2918 Elm Road N.E., Warren, showcasing art of the children from the Rich Center and the art of Mauro DiVieste and James and Julie Shuttic. The art sale and auction will benefit the center. The event will also include musical entertainment.
Cost is $30 per person, with tickets available at the Rich Center, RD Banks Chevrolet and Trumbull County Records Office. The event is being sponsored by RD Banks Chevrolet.
CHURCH HOSTS CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER: Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will host ''Christmas in September'' from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 30. The event will include games, chalk drawing, face painting, cornhole, volleyball, crafts and food.
The event is free.
NATIONAL HUNGER ACTION MONTH BEING MARKED: To raise awareness of the problem of hunger, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is encouraging people to participate in Hunger Action Month during September. LECTURER TO SPEAK TO GARDEN GROUP: The Men's Garden Club of Youngstown is sponsoring a lecture by the author Felder Rushing at 7 p.m. Thursday at Fellows Riverside Gardens. His lecture, entitled "Grow Anything in Anything," will include information for gardeners and would-be gardeners.
Rushing has served as a board member of the American Horticulture Society, national director of the Garden Writers Association, and member of the National Youth Gardening Committee. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

FOUNDATION HELPS JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT: The Home Savings Charitable Foundation presented $5,000 to Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley in Girard. The money will be used to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
EVENT TO SHOWCASE PARROTS: Parrot Hope, which has a local Trumbull County group, will hold an open house from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the sanctuary, 11195 Bowen Road, Mantua. The event will take place at the sanctuary, where there will be tours of the facility and parrots up for adoption. Volunteer booths will be set up and photos will be taken with parrots.
