HOWLAND GLEN MANOR WELCOMES HARMONICA PERFORMER: Victor Gaston Jr., a former Warren resident, was the guest performer last week at Howland Glen Manor, with his harmonica playing.
Always interested in the harmonica, the Cape Coral, Fla., resident learned to play without a lesson. He was a member of the Steel Valley Harmonica Club in Youngstown and plays with the Fort Myers Harmonica Band in Florida.
He is scheduled to play for residents at the Cortland SCOPE Center this week.
GRANDPARENTS SUPPORT GROUP OFFERED: The Warren SCOPE Center, 220 W. Market St., is offering a free monthly grandparents support group beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
This support group will provide the opportunity for grandparents 60 or older to network with others who have the same responsibilities. The group also will have guest speakers who will provide additional resources and information pertinent to attendees.

PACKARD RETIREES TO MEET: Packard Electric and Delphi Packard Local 717 Retirees will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Local 717's Union Hall, located at 2950 Sferra Ave., Warren Commerce Park, Warren. The speaker this month is from St. Joe's at the Mall.
Members attending are asked to bring a labeled covered dish and table service. Also, members are reminded that next month is the money maker indoor yard sale and to get items together for next month. No clothing or shoes will be accepted.
HOWLAND RETIREES TO MEET: Howland Schools Retirees will meet at 11 a.m. Oct. 2 at Enzo's. Cost of the lunch, payable at the door, is $10 for a choice of the three or four entrees offered.
All Howland Schools retired personnel, classified and non-classified, spouses / guests, are welcome to attend the monthly meetings. Those not receiving the mailings with a response card are requested to call 330-856-5226 by the Saturday prior to the meeting. Do not call the restaurant.
The monthly collection of school supplies, unexpired non-perishable food, etc., will be delivered to Beatitude House after the meeting.
