The ninth ''Fundraising Is a Drag'' event is scheduled this weekend at the Calvin Center.
The drag show started as a fundraiser for the Oakland Center for the Arts, and this is the third year it has benefited the Rust Belt Theater Company, founded by Robert Dennick Joki. Joki created the production and also is the writer and star of ''How the Drag Queen Stole Christmas.''
The show mixes music and comedy and will feature performances by Bebe Starr, Lola VanHorn, Baby Firefly, Kage Coven, Lady C, Jacqueline St. Porcupine, Crysto, Mona Lott, and Starrlet O'Hara.
Audience members also will get to see a sneak peak of ''Living Dead: The Musical,'' an original production that Rust Belt will open in October.
''Fundraising Is a Drag'' will be presented at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Calvin Center, 755 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens and include complimentary hors d'oeuvres and refreshments. For reservations or more information, call or text 330-507-2358.
