SAN ANTONIO - Jack G. Kline, 80, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012.

He was born and raised in northeastern Ohio, where he spent some of his adult life, as well as in Santa Fe, N.M., and the last 30 years in San Antonio.

Jack proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He made his living doing what he loved - his life's work was his avocation. He was known as Trader Jack, and before his retirement owned Trader Jack Antiques. His enjoyment and pleasures were sharing his love for antiques, fine craftsmanship, history and art with his friends, customers, neighbors and family.

His family would like to say that he had a very deep interest and was incredibly wonderful with people from all walks of life. It was his presence, his words, his stories and his never-ending generosity that made him an exceptional and warm-hearted man, a loving father and a caring husband. His life made a lasting impact on his family, friends and all who knew him.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Mary Agnes Kunz of San Antonio; his son, Randall William (Verdena Ann) Kline, and their children April Marie (Jim) McIntosh and Samuel David (fiancee Rachael Stewart) Kline; his daughter, Barbara Ann (Thom) Perry, and their son, John Gage Perry, all of northeastern Ohio; and his caregiver, personal assistant, dear friend, Leeross Valdez, who made it possible for Jack to spend the past seven and a half years enjoying his life to the fullest in spite of his disabilities.

His memory will be a blessing to each and every person whom he touched throughout his life.

At Jack's insistence, there will be no funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Defense League, 11300 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, TX 78217, in the hope that everyone has the good fortune to adopt a dog like Jack's beloved companion, Coco.
