NILES - Joe Sever hit a three-run triple with two outs in the bottom of the eighth to score Robel Garcia, Aaron Siliga and Joseph Wendle as the Scrappers used a four-run inning to beat the Auburn Doubledays 8-6 on Thursday night at Eastwood Field.
Sever finished with two hits, as did Erik Gonzalez. Mahoning Valley's Jorge Martinez hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning that tied the game 4-4.
The series against Auburn continues tonight at 7:05.
