Three days of free activities are planned at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds for the 17th ox roast and vehicle show sponsored by Glenn Christian Foundation Church.
According to Rev. Frank J. Glenn Jr., the event isn't a fundraiser for the church or a charity; its purpose is provide a day of fellowship and fun for the community. It is made possible through the efforts of the church's membership and donations from local businesses.
Car, truck motorcycle and tractor owners are invited to show their vehicles at the event, which has no registration fee.
Festivities start Friday with a car cruise, with trophies for the top 10, and music by DJ Crazy Dave. Also planned are a bonfire and hayride, and there will be free hot dogs, pop and coffee from 6 to 8 p.m.
Trophies will be awarded for the top 30 on Saturday as well as trophies for the top 50 motorcycles. Entertainment will be provided by the bands 1st Degree and Pipe Dreams and DJ Big Rick, and there will be free hot dogs, chips, pop and coffee from 1 to 4 p.m.
Sunday is the main event with organizers presenting 288 trophies and 700 dash plaques for participants. An open air worship service is planned in the grandstand at 10:30 a.m.
Organizers expect to distribute a ton of free roast beef sandwiches Sunday during the ox roast. Entertainment will feature Sky Pilot and DJ Keen Gene, and fireworks are planned at dark.
Free amusement-park -style carnival rides will be available all three days.
The event runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds, 899 Everett-Hull Road, Bazetta.
