Due to Monday's rain out, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and the Batavia Muckdogs met on Tuesday in a doubleheader at Eastwood Field.
The Muckdogs were able to use the long ball both times to complete the sweep with by scores of 6-2 and 1-0. Trailing 2-0, the Scrappers answered back in the third inning with two of their own. Erik Gonzalez led off the inning with a single. He came into score on Joe Wendle's RBI double. Wendle would then score when Dorssys Paulino singled through the left side of the infield to tie the game at 2.
In the top of the fourth inning with two outs, Reggie Williams blasted a two-run homer over the bullpen in rightfield for a 4-2 Batavia lead.
In Game 2, Scrappers starter Luis DeJesus made only one mistake allowing a home run to Danny Stienstra in the top of the sixth. DeJesus also put his name into the Scrappers record books. He pitched just the second complete game in franchise history. The first came in the inaugural year of 1999 when Jay Sirianni pitched a rain shortened five-inning game.
The Scrappers and Muckdogs will play for the final time tonight. First pitch is set for 7:05.
