Tailgate party to help injured girl

TAILGATE EVENT TO HELP HOWLAND GIRL: The Mahoning Valley Scrappers ''Best Dog-Gone'' chili cook-off and tailgate party will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Scrappers Eastwood Field, Niles, in an effort to provide handicapped accommodations to Marisa Kay of Howland who was hospitalized following accident involving a Bobcat loader. Tickets are $8 per person. The party features chilis from the Mahoning Valley, live music, an evening of festivities, raffles, a Chinese auction, the Scrappers game, and fireworks. Kay, 7, is expected to spend more time at Akron Children's Hospital and will need handicapped accommodations made to her family home prior to discharge.
