VIENNA TO HOST HOME DAY: The Vienna Township Home Day will be held from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday at the township green. The event will include a pie baking contest, with judging at 10:30 a.m. and a parade at 11 a.m. traveling from St. Thomas the Apostle Church with trophies for oldest vehicle and most decorated unit.
Activities include barn raising, Vienna Cemetery scavenger hunt, old-fashioned games, skillet toss, sack race, rolling pin toss, performance by local bands and talent open mic. Booth set up is Friday evening and Saturday morning.

HOSPITAL CELEBRATES OPENING: Trumbull Memorial Hospital is hosting an orthopedic open house and safety fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday to celebrate the completion and reopening of its renovated orthopedic and nursing floor.
Started in January, the orthopedic project received approximately $4 million in renovations. There will also be a variety of displays and activities.
Friendly Squares and Sneakers 'N Spurs dancers from the Niles and Howland-Cortland SCOPE and the Steven Foster Chorus will provide entertainment. Emergency responders from the Champion Fire Department, Lane LifeTrans and STAT Medevac will be available to answer questions and provide a close up look of emergency vehicles.
NEIGHBORHOOD HOSTS BLOCKWATCH: The annual Homewood block party will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday at at Homewood S.E. Entertainment, which will start at 1:30 p.m. A memorial service will start at 3 p.m., with food at 4 p.m.
FOOD GIVEAWAY SET AT CHURCH: Deliverance Temple Church, 1849 West Ave. N.W., Warren, will hold a food giveaway in conjunction with the Youngstown Community Food Center Inc. at 3 p.m. today. Those in need are asked to bring photo identification and a utility bill.
BOOK SIGNING: Author Les Coe will hold a book signing from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Daily Grind, 824 N. State St., Girard. Coe, a resident of Youngstown, will be available to sign copies of his book, ''Space Crew-zers.''
