EDINBURG - The Ravenna Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred about 2 p.m. Saturday in the eastbound rest area of Interstate 76.

The victim, Frank C. Shackelford, 57, of Lake Geneva, Wisc., had parked his semi-tractor trailer in a commercial parking space behind another semi-tractor trailer in front of the rest area service building, according to the patrol.

After having exited the truck, Shackelford walked in front of the cab. While doing so, the truck rolled forward, pinning him against the trailer of the vehicle in front.

The driver in the other vehicle was not injured and had not been in the driver's seat at the time of the incident. The preliminary investigation revealed that the emergency brakes on Shackelford's truck were not engaged.

The investigation is ongoing.
