Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Betty Emerson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 23, 2012.
The couple met at a car hop diner where the future Mrs. Emerson was a waitress and Mr. Emerson was a cook. They were married Aug. 23, 1962, at Champion Church of God.
Mr. Emerson is retired from the U.S. Army. The couple are members of the General Assembly Church of God in Newton Falls.
