COUNTRY-WESTERN DAY PLANNED AT PARK: Friends of the Mosquito Lake State Park campgrounds will hold a Country-Western Day in the Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the state park parking lot/ lawn area between the ranger station and the marina off state Route 305, Bazetta. The free event will include the Native American ''Red Hawk Cultural Society,'' hunting and war encampment, Native American demonstrations, barn yard petting zoo, wagon rides, crafts, flea market, birds of prey show, naturalist programs and informational booths. NEIGHBORHOOD HOLDS PARTY: The Southwest Community Block Party will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday on Hoyt Street, Warren. There will be food, live music, raffles, face painting and games for seniors and youth.
ASSOCIATION TO MEET: The Garfield Neighborhood Association will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, corner of East Market Street and Genesee Avenue. Scheduled speakers are Marissa Williams, community planning coordinator, and George Piscsalko, strategic planning and zoning coordinator, both from the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership. Discussion will center on the Ohio attorney general's money appropriated for demolition of blighted properties in Warren and the strategic plan for that demolition.
FARMERS MARKET SET: The Howland Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the township gazebo off Market Street. The open-air market features farm fresh produce and specialty products, hand-crafted items by local artisans and live music. The event will be held rain or shine.
HORSE SHOW SET: The Brookfield Saddle Club Horse Show will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the club grounds, Bedford Road. The daylong show will feature both open and breed specific classes in both English and Western styles. Grounds fee per horse is $3 and entry fee per class entry is $5/ $10.
