Fourteen artists received juror awards for the 48th TAG Annual, which opened Saturday at Trumbull Art Gallery.
Christopher Leeper won the top Jurors' Award and a cash prize of $500 for his painting ''Below the Brine.'' A total of $2,000 was awarded by jurors Susan Schroeder, a retired art professor at Kent State University and her husband, George Schroeder, a retired art professor at Hiram College. Curator Karen Fry said that is a $300 increase from last year's prize pool.
Other winners are:
First prize ($350) -Patrick Hernon, ''Patrick's Blues''
Second prize ($250) - Beth Ensign, ''Twilight Trees''
Third prize ($150) - Rochelle Krok, ''Black Bird''
Honorable mention ($75 each) - William Barron, Edward Beyer, Bill Perry, Dave Thomas, Shawn Dougherty, Glenn Morisue, Maryann Cox-Limmer, Suzanne Brown, Joy White and Michelle Miller.
The 48th TAG Annual runs through Oct. 6 at Trumbull Art Gallery, 196-198 E. Market St., Warren. Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, call 330-395-4876.
