Feature twirlers, Julianna Johnson and Chloe Miller, will be performing along with the 128 member marching band from grades nine through 12. Julianna and Chloe were among 15 young women chosen nationwide as Twirling Ambassadors to Peru from Sept. 20 to Oct 2.
''I'm very excited because it's a new experience and I hope to make a good impression on the people there,'' said Julianna. ''I also hope to get a little eye-opener of how good we have it here.''
Invited by the Lions Club of Trujillo, Peru, the young women will attend dinners, luncheons and formal gown events where they will meet with numerous dignitaries including the Governor, the Director of National Security, the President of the Lions Club of Trujillo and other high level officials.
They also will be participating in the 62nd annual Festival Internacional de Primavera, a festival held each year to celebrate the coming of spring, and to raise funds for charitable causes in Trujillo.
Through their participation in the festival, Julianna and Chloe will be working to support many needy causes in Peru, including meeting with orphans the festival fundraiser has supported, senior citizen homes and will deliver donations of used eyeglasses and hearing aids to the Lions Club of Trujillo.
