MECCA TO HOST 13TH ANNUAL CORN ROAST: The 13th annual Mecca Community Corn Roast will be held starting at 11 a.m. Saturday at the township park off Route 46, south of the township center. The parade will be held at 11 a.m. with lineup at the high school. The event will include games, prizes, flush tank, food, music by Switch, a trunk sale sponsored by Maplewood cheerleaders, and a Chinese auction at 4 p.m. with proceeds to benefit the Mecca Civic Organization Scholarship Fund. CANNING CLASS OFFERED: A free canning and freezing workshop offered by the Ohio State University Extension office will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the McKinley Memorial Library auditorium in Niles.
