Hopefully, country music will return

DEAR EDITOR:

In a recent letter to the editor, the writer stated that Warren is a "rock 'n' roll city." While rock 'n' roll may be a popular music type, country and western also has a great following in the city. I have attended every country show at the Warren Amphitheatre and each was a great time for all those attending, proving that we should have a mixture of music to choose from. For myself, I am strictly a country fan.

Rock 'n' roll came from country music. A fiddler player has always been an important part of a country band, while I have not seen many in a rock band.

I would not agree that "country at the Amp" has failed. It has only just begun. I am certain that it will be back next year bigger and better than ever. The 3D Productions has brought in some great bands each week with their own country style. The local bands that start each show are from Trumbull and Mahoning counties and they do a terrific job at starting the night off. Thank you, 3D Productions, for giving us something new and refreshing to enjoy on a Friday night. When I see the people coming through the gates in cowboy boots and hats, I know that country is here to stay.

It would be great if at the end of the season, jazz and blues, rock 'n' roll and country fans could have a concert together so that each could enjoy all the others' music. The Amp is a great place for the people of the city of Warren and the surrounding areas to go and enjoy a night of great entertainment. But, don't ever think that rock 'n' roll prevails over country as the "Clampetts, Hatfields and McCoys" have been around a lot longer.
