Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Janet Montgomery of Howland celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug. 11, 2012, at a family picnic and reunion hosted by Janet Cook and Sue Stewart.
They were married Aug. 11, 1962, at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church, Sharon, Pa., by the Rev. Earl Wynn.
The couple have a daughter, Marilee (David) Cole, and a son, Ken (Shannon) Montgomery. They also have five grandsons.

Mrs. Montgomery has been a registered nurse, school teacher and a nursing instructor. She has also been a licensed professional counselor for the past 30 years and is a Christian counselor in Howland.
Mr. Montgomery is a retired Champion teacher, and together they have an active Shaklee food supplement business,working with people throughout the country.
They have traveled throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia.
