Avalon owner reports increase in revenue

WARREN - The owner of the Avalon Golf and Country Club, Avalon Holding Corp., announced growth in its net operating revenues and income in the second quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2011.

The second quarter net operating revenues were $12.6 million compared with net operating revenues of $11.4 million in the second quarter of 2011. Net income was $300,000, or 7 cents per share, compared to $100,000, or $2 cents per share, for the second quarter of 2011.

Net operating revenues for the first six months of 2012 increased to $23.5 million compared to $21.3 million for the first six months of 2011.

The company incurred a net loss of $100,000, or 3 cents per share, for the first six months of 2012 compared to $300,000, or 7 cents per share for the first six months of 2011.

Avalon Holdings Corp. provides waste management services to industrial, commercial, municipal and governmental customers in selected northeastern and midwestern U.S. markets.
