BRISTOLVILLE - Doris E. Hyde, 97, of Bristolville, died at 8:40 a.m. on Aug. 2, 2012, after a long and beautiful life.
She was born March 31, 1915, in West Mecca Township, the daughter of John and Estella Setzler Steinhauser.
She was a 1933 graduate of West Mecca High School and worked at Ohio Lamp in the early 1930s.

Doris and William A. Hyde were married on April 16, 1938. On Aug. 26, 1941, they were blessed with the birth of a son, Dr. Gary A. Hyde, who would have a long and successful optometric practice in Howland.
A homemaker, Doris enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Nancy Hyde; four granddaughters, Susan Whiting, Mary (Michael) Evans, Barbara Gwirtz and Nancy Lee (Bret) Gdovin; 11 great-grandchildren, Bobby (Shelly) Hyde, Brandon (Niki) Hyde, Adelynn and Sutton Whiting, Matthew, Michael and Patrick Evans, Nickolas and Daniel Gwirtz and Madison Gdovin; and great-great-grandson, Maclin Whiting.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Hyde, and a son, Dr. Gary A. Hyde, who died Sept. 9, 2011. Also preceding her in death were two sisters and three brothers.
She will be deeply missed by all she touched.
