Donald Huston 1947-2012

CHAMPION - Donald "Don" Huston, 64, of Champion, passed away July 30, 2012, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends.

He was born Nov. 1, 1947, in Warren, a son of the late Ernest Neal Huston and the late Alice Engstrom.

He married Amy Jo Shahan Huston on July 19, 2012.

He was employed at Republic Steel for 42 years in the Metalurgical Lab.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Vietnam War as a reconnaissance photographic specialist at the Phu Cat Air Base.

Donald was a member of the Warren YMCA, Steelworkers Union Local 1325 and the NRA.

He was an avid bicycle rider and outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting in Wyoming. He was an advocate of education and never stopped learning. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Jo Shahan Huston of Champion; daughters, Sarah Hasan and Aliyah Hasan; sons, Gabe Hasan and Sulley Hasan, all at home; brothers, Richard "Dick" Huston of Braceville, Larry Huston of Braceville, Kenneth Huston of Braceville and Dennis Huston of Mecca; and sister, Carol Valentine (Huston) of California. Also surviving is a host of family and friends in Wyoming.

A celebration of Don's life will take place at a later date.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their compassionate support and care during Don's illness.

Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, Warren, has been entrusted with all the arrangements for Don.
