NILES - John E. Lewis, 78, of George Street, died at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Briarfield at the Ridge.
He was born Dec. 14, 1933, in Frostburg, Md., the son of Elmer Ellsworth and Mildred P. Sausman Lewis.
A member of Niles First Christian Church, he had been employed by Packard Electric.

Mr. Lewis is survived by seven children, Mary "Mickey" Shimko of Warren, Robert Kasmar of Leavittsburg, Gayle Breegle of McDonald, Paula Thompson of Brookfield, Jeffrey Lewis of Australia, Kicia Eister of Mineral Ridge and Judee Patterson of Niles; a brother, Robert Lewis of Niles; 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park.
