The engagement and upcoming marriage of Renee N. Black and Michael McSweeney are being announced by the bride-elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Black Jr. of Southington.
Parents of the groom-elect are Mr. and Mrs. William McSweeney of Los Angeles.
Miss Black graduated in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in business management and a bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising from Youngstown State University. Since graduating, she has been working with Tween Brands and resides in Hoboken, N.J.

Mr. McSweeney graduated in 2006 from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in marketing. He works as a regional sales manager for Nestle throughout the northeast.
The couple will be united in marriage during a wedding ceremony to be held on Sept. 29, 2012, at St. Paul's Church in Akron. Invitations will be issued for the wedding and a reception to follow at Firestone Country Club.
