Youth choir performs at Amp
The Warren City-Wide Youth Choir will perform its second annual summer concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Warren Community Amphitheatre, 303 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren.
The choir was formed in 2011 by the CURRENT Young Adult Fellowship and has had more than 70 participants since its first concert at the 2011 African American Achievers Festival. It is open to students and young adults ages 5 to 35 of any church affiliation. The group rehearses at Agape Assembly Church.
A free-will offering will be collected, and proceeds will benefit the CURRENT Scholarship Fund.
Kinsman artist featured in Geneva
Kinsman-based artist Shirley McElhaney will display her work in a solo exhibition this weekend at The Lodge at Geneva on the Lake, 4888 N. Broadway, Geneva-on-the-Lake. McElhaney work has been shown nationally and internationally.
Her multimedia work will be on display from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Cabaret duo performs at Alma
Youngstown cabaret duo Liz Rubino and James McClellan will take their act on the road with a performance tonight at Alma Theater in Cain Park, Lee and Superior roads, Cleveland Heights.
The two singers, both local stage veterans, draw from a repertoire that includes musical theater selections, contemporary, folk and the great American songbook, and they will be accompanied by Michael Moritz Jr. on piano. The duo made it New York City debut earlier this year at the Metropolitan Room.
The performance starts at 7 p.m. today. Tickets are $25 and $23 and are available through Ticketmaster and by calling 216-371-3000.
Geauga art show seeks entries
Artists in northeast Ohio can submit their two- and three-dimensional works for consideration for the seventh annual Juried Art Show sponsored by the Geauga Council for Arts & Culture.
Items can be brought to the Geauga West Public Library, 13455 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 6. The entry fee is $15 for the first item and $10 for each additional item with a limit of three items. The categories are oil or acrylic, watercolor, photography and other, and cash prizes will be awarded in each category.

Seven Springs serves up rib fest
The third annual Rib & Wing Festival returns this weekend to Seven Spring Mountain Resort, 777 Waterwheel Drive, Seven Springs, Pa.
Vendors will include Smokin' Joe's Hog Wild Barbecue, Pigfoot BBQ, Mojo's Rib Shack, Armadillo's BBQ and Rib Company and Texas Outlaw BBQ, and musical entertainment will be provided by Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers, Scott Blasey of The Clarks, The Bill Deasy Band and Chris Higbee.
