NILES The 79th annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival will be held today to Sunday at the church grounds, 381 Robbins Ave., featuring homemade food, rides, games, and entertainment each day.
Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today to Friday. Food, rides and games will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. today to Friday and from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Entertainment will be provided by the Rex Taneri Band from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. today; the Rocky Monaco Band from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday; Tonelli Band from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday; the Jim Frank Trio from 6 to 11 pm. Saturday; and John Gabriele from 3 to 5 p.m. and Frank Gallo from 6 to 11 p.m. Sunday.

This year marks the 79th year for the annual festival, which is well-known for the authentic Italian food provided by members of the congregation. Cheesepuffs, cavatelli and sausage as well as pastry twists are popular among festival-goers.
