FARMINGTON - The annual Farmington Old-Fashioned Festival will be held Thursday to Saturday with various games and other activities to be held in the park off state Route 88 at Main and Third streets.
The event includes watermelon eating contests, a parade, children's programs and entertainment.
The watermelon eating contest will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Farmington 5K fun run and one-mile walk to benefit the festival's scholarship fund will be 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the park. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. on Third Street in front of the village garage.
The car show is noon to 4 p.m. Saturday with the parade at 6 p.m. Saturday. Parade registration is at 4 p.m.
The schedule of events for Thursday include the opening ceremony with Girl Scout Troop 178 at 5 p.m., buggy ride 5 to 10 p.m. Jungle Terry animal show at 6 p.m. and Mr. Lucky Classic Rock 7:30 p.m.
On Friday, the opening ceremony is at 5 p.m. with buggy rides from 5 to 10 p.m.; pony pull at the baseball field at 5:30 p.m.; cookie contest judging at 6:30 p.m.; kiddie tractor pull at 7 p.m. and Four Lane Highway performing from 8 to 11 p.m.
On Saturday, the horseshoe pitching contest will be at 7 a.m. with the three-on-three basketball tournament at 8 a.m.; opening ceremony at 9 a.m., small engine tractor pull at 9 a.m.; children and adult games at 9 a.m.; clowns from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; cake judging at noon; car show from noon to 4 p.m.; buggy rides from noon to 10 p.m.; horse pull at 1 p.m.; chalk on the walk judging at 2 p.m.; Simply Ed deejay and karaoke from 2 to 5 p.m.; Jungle Terry at 5 p.m.; pie, cookie and cake auction at 7 p.m. and Fort Hunsburg Band from 8 to 11 p.m.
