Bikeway open house planned
An open house is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. today at MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Canfield, to discuss Phase III of the MetroParks Bikeway.
Phase III is the proposed section of bikeway through Green Township that will connect the existing MetroParks Bikeway at Western Reserve Road to Columbiana County near Route 14 in the Village of Washingtonville. Aerial mapping and plan drawings of the project will be on display, and Mill Creek MetroParks personnel will be on-hand to answer questions from the public.

Civil War action comes to Canfield
The Seventh Civil War Reenactment comes this weekend to Argus Park, 5050 Shields Road, Canfield.
More than 200 infantry soldiers will engage in different battlefield scenarios with battles scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. On site will be four full-size cannons that were used during the filming of the movie ''Gettysburg,'' and two actually were used in the Civil War. Actors will portray President Abraham Lincoln and generals Grant, Lee, Jackson, Stuart, Forrest and Sherman.
Gates open at 9 a.m. each day. Food and refreshments will be available. Admission is $6 with children ages 9 and younger admitted free. For more information call Greg Anstrom at 330-782-0222 or 330-758-9576.
Entries sought for TAG Annual
Entries will be accepted for the 48th TAG Annual at Trumbull Art Gallery from noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 3 and 4.
The juried show is open to artists ages 18 and older working in any medium who live within a 100-mile radius of Warren. This year's jurors will be Susan Schroeder, retired professor of art at Kent State University at Trumbull, and George Schroeder, retired professor of art at Hiram College.

Farm dinner raises funds for United Way
Tickets are on sale now for the first Farm to Fork Dinner, presented by Key Bank, to benefit the United Way.
The outdoor fresh-from-the-farm dinner and desserts will feature ingredients from White House Fruit Farm and a number of other local suppliers, prepared by Stephen Grant, executive chef of The Youngstown Club.
The event is scheduled at 5 p.m. July 29 at White House Fruit Farm, 9249 Youngstown-Salem Road, Canfield, and will include private shopping in the market, wagon tours of the farm and orchard and musical entertainment by the Teddy Pantelas Duo.
