By ANDY GRAY - Entertainment editor (grayareas@tribtoday.com) , Tribune Chronicle | TribToday.com

More than 90 bands will perform over three days at Newton Falls Community Center for the first BeardStock.

Beardcore Productions founder Brian Markle said he's been doing all-ages, alcohol-free shows since 2007, but he's never done anything on this scale before.

''I wanted to challenge myself,'' Markle said. ''I started working on this in November, and it's been a rollercoaster.''

A total of 94 groups and solo acts are scheduled on three different stages all three days. There are some exceptions, but Friday's lineup emphasizes rock groups, while Saturday is metal and Sunday is more pop / punk.

Bands scheduled to perform on Friday are: Zhopa Mira, Neon Avenue, Two Days Until Tomorrow, HonestKyle, A Year Without a Summer, Amateurs Like Champions, Vambo Marble Eye, Far From Nothing, White Cadilliac, Kid Detective, Pilot the Mind, The Face Cards, The Royal Remedy, The Riot Squad, The Cardboard Cutouts, The Inferno, 2d6, Words First, Mobius and TG, East Coast Myth, Tim Rutan, A-Mac, Abstrak, The Spontaneous Adventures of Cory and Tharp, Dominic Dibattse, Zigmonster and Shoka Mike.

Saturday's lineup includes: Kitchen Knife Conspiracy, Abandon All Hope, This is a Lifetime, Among the Fallen, The New PhaRmacy, They Promised Escape, Postpwn3d, Inside We Die, Under a Dead Sky, Chapless Larry, Defeat the Weak, Spoken for the Dead, Fallen Captive, Concrete Cancer, Where There's a Will, Decomposing the Malevolent, AUDACIA, Shadows Claim, Lower 13, Scrying Rapture, Your Dying Breath, Phantom in the Woodwork, Revive and Recover, Frank Toncar, Derik Kroeze, Cody Nemes, Taylor Saunders, Nick Mock, Alexis Sobleski, Broken Canvas, Michael Gmutza, Matt Humphrey, We Are Pirates, DotDotDot-SheLovesMeNot, Shamans Mead and Matt Vinson.

Bands are responsible for selling tickets and are paid a percentage of what they sold, Markle said. The rest of the money from ticket sales will be used to cover expenses.

''I don't do shows to make money,'' Markle said. ''I do it to give kids a place to play and give people something to do that doesn't involve going out and getting drunk.''
