Society holds open house

HISTORICAL SOCIETY HOLDS OPEN HOUSE: The Mineral Ridge Historical Society will hold an open house from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the historic Moss Ancestral Home, 1499 Burnett St., Mineral Ridge. The event will include a campfire at 8:30 p.m. with those attending to bring a lawn chair. The event is being hosted by Mary Lou and John Godleski, and the Moss family.

BLOCK PARTY FOR CHILDREN: The Steel Valley Baptist Association will hold a block party from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Perkins Park in Warren for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. For information, call 330-979-8776.

MEMORIAL RIDE PLANNED: The third annual memorial ride in memory of Michael Theodore Jr. will be held Saturday at Trumbull County Fairgrounds, 899 Everett Hull Road, Bazetta. Proceeds from the event will go toward building a youth center in his memory. The groundbreaking will be Sunday at Pentecostal Community Church, 5348 Peck Road, Jefferson. Theodore was one of three Marine recruits killed on March 31, 2010, when he was on his way to be sworn into the Marine Corps.

The event will include door prizes and food. Donations are $15 for riders and $5 for passengers. Registration is at 10 a.m. with the ride starting at noon. The event will be held rain or shine.

Alzheimer's Network hosts sale:?Alzheimer Network is holding its annual garage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon July 14. The event will be held at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road (Route 62), Canfield Township. Proceeds will support the local services of the Alzheimer Network with a portion designated for research.
