WARREN -- Detectives are investigating what they believe to be the city's second homicide this year.
Officers were called to 341 Charles S.E. at about 1 a.m. today. According to scanner traffic, four males with guns tried to abduct a woman on the southeast side. The woman told police that she entered a house in the 300 block of Charles to find four armed black males wearing hoodies and masks.
The males tried to drag the woman into the house, according to the scanner communication, but she broke away and ran down Warren Boulevard to Laird Avenue, where she called police.
At about 1:30 a.m., police said they thought they had one of the males cornered on Charles.
The events between then and hours later when police announced they were investigating a homicide are unknown.
