The Warren RBG 14U girls fastpitch softball team is currently undefeated.
"This year brought on the perfect storm, whereas everyone was eligible to participate on the same team at the same time at just the right age with all the right talent in all the right places," Thompson said.
RBG Complex, (a local business complex comprised of a restaurant, music store and youth nonprofit; located at 1958 Palmyra Road S.W., sponsored the team for the 2012 season. When RBG Complex offered to sponsor the team this year, they never thought the return would be so great, Thompson said.
This is the first year for Warren Athletic Club to have their girls softball program involved with Babe Ruth Softball.
"So it is a great feat for a team to receive a direct invite their first year," Thompson said.
The team has been invited to participate in the Babe Ruth Midwest Regional 14U Softball Tournament in Shelbyville, Ind., on July 18-22.
WAC's RBG girls team will be the only team representing Ohio this year at the 14U tournament.
Donations and sponsorships are needed to help the girls get to Indiana.
Checks should be made payable to WAC (Warren Athletic Club). For more information, contact team fundraising coordinator Becky Dipaolo, 330-219-2364 or team manager Sonja Thompson, 330-979-6006.
