CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES SET AT FAIR: The Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District will be conducting children's educational activities during the Trumbull County Fair. From Thursday to Saturday, different environmental topics will include a ''make it and take it'' craft. Activities are in the educational building. Heather Merritt of Birds in Flight Sanctuary will also be at the Ohio Division of Wildlife Tent from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Hawks, owls and other birds will be featured.
CHURCH HOSTS JULY 4 SALE: Praise Assembly of God, 1004 N. Main St., Niles, will hold a huge yard sale from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
CANCER BENEFIT TO HELP WOMAN: A cancer benefit to help Nancy Guerini will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Leon's, 1111 Niles-Corltand Road, Howland. The event will include Chinese auction, pasta dinner, psychic readings, a 50-50 raffle and a poker run. Guerini is battling Stage 4 cancer and is receiving treatments with funds raised to help with costs of treatments and traveling to the hospital.
GREEK SUMMERFEST THIS WEEK: St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 220 N. Walnut St., Youngstown, will hold a Greek Summerfest at 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. There will be Greek music by Alpha and Omega on Friday, a trash and treasure sale, a Chinese auction and Greek food.
LIBRARY HOLDS MOVIE SERIES: The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, will show a series of movies on July 7 and 21 with the theme of "When the East Was the West: Tales of the Eastern Frontier." A film about Rogers' Rangers, based on the novel by Kenneth Roberts, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday and a 1958 classic based on the novel by Conrad Richter about a young man captured and raised by Indians at 3:15 p.m. Saturday. The series is a prelude to Ohio Chautauqua coming July 24 to 28 to Warren with a theme of "When Ohio Was the Western Frontier."
HABITAT SEEKS DONATIONS: Habitat for Humanity's warehouse, 418 Main Ave. by the Warren Flea Market, is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Friday for donations and sales.
