Wesley G. Smith 1946-2012

YOUNGSTOWN - Wesley G. Smith, 65, of Vienna, passed away early Sunday morning, July 1, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

He was born on Nov. 25, 1946, in Warren, the son of Cleon B. and Virginia M. Cross Smith.

A graduate from Matthews High School, Wesley attended Youngstown State University for several years before going into business as a general contractor until his retirement.

Wesley was an avid traveler and had loved spending time in his RV with his beloved Jack Russell terrier, Annie, as well as sailing and scuba diving. He had numerous stories and was always ready to share them with everyone who he could easily keep laughing.

Wes was also a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.

Memories of Wes will be carried on by his father, Cleon B. Smith of Vienna; his brother, Ronald C. (Rosemarie) Smith of Hubbard; his brother-in-law, Curtis W. Brubaker of Vienna; niece, Beverly (David) Anderson of Hubbard; nephews, David R. (Molly) Smith of Hartford, Ryan (Brenda) Brubaker, Colin (Abbey) Brubaker and Kyle Brubaker, all of Vienna; and by his great-nephews, Michael, Caden, Dane and Ben; and great-nieces Jacqueline and Mikayla.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia M. Smith, on June 10, 2009; his sister, Rayne E. Brubaker, on Dec. 31, 2007, and his dog Annie in 2010.

A Celebration of Wes' Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Vienna Presbyterian Church, 4259 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna, OH 44473, with the Rev. Dale Osborn officiating. Friends may call from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the start of services.
