During Alex's elementary school years in Canal Fulton, Cindy was very involved in school activities. This led to her returning to school herself, graduating Dec. 21, 1996 Cum Laude from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.

Cindy taught at St. James Elementary in Waynesburg, and Denton Elementary in Denton, N.C.

Cindy's kindness and cheerfulness were only exceeded by the bravery and toughness she exhibited during the battle with her illness.

She is survived by her husband Bill Green of Locust, N.C.; her son Alex Green of Charlotte, N.C.; her mother Rose Sudduth of Jacksonville, Fla.; her sister Judy Thomas of Summerville, S.C.; and her brother Tony Britton of Warren.

She was preceded in death by her father Herman Jack Britton Sr. and her brother Herman ''Hermie'' Jack Britton Jr.

She also is survived by her CherryGirl, the family English mastiff who was her constant companion during her four-year illness.

A memorial service will be held at noon July 14 at Grace Baptist Church in Champion. All are welcome to attend to share memories, tears and laughter in celebration of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association in Silver Spring, Md. at www.phassociation.org
