HOWLAND - Parade, 10 a.m. Wednesday, from Hunters Square Plaza on East Market Street to Howland High School. 5K run and walk, 8 a.m. Bicentennial celebration, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Richard Orwig Park and near the high school. Pet parade and contest and car show at noon and pizza eating contest at 12:30 p.m. at Pizza Works.
LIBERTY - ''Salute to Liberty'' fireworks celebration, 10 p.m. Tuesday, Freedom Place and Liberty Assembly of God, 6779 Belmont Ave. Food concessions and music starting at 9:30 p.m.

McDONALD - McDonald Fire Department Homecoming Festival parade, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Ohio Avenue. Festival Wednesday to Saturday with food, rides and games in the park. Fireworks 11 p.m. Saturday.
NEWTON FALLS - Newton Falls Lions Club Festival, Saturday to Wednesday, city park off Quarry Street. Saturday: Bring Benatar, 7 to 11 p.m.; Sunday: Pie baking contest and auction, 3 to 4:30 p.m.; Monday, After Midnight, 7 to 11 p.m.; Tuesday: treasure hunt, 3 p.m., Rudy and the Professionals, 7 to 11 p.m.; Wednesday, parade, 10 a.m., Jenny and the Jets, 6 to 10 p.m., fireworks, 10 p.m.
