BRISTOLVILLE - Murray "Gene" Nevin, 70, of Bristolville, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, in St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.
He was born on Oct. 13, 1941, in Greenville, Pa., the son of Oliver and Charlene Lecomte Nevin.
He was a butcher and worked for Howland Township for 18 years.

Gene was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the American Legion and Cortland Moose Lodge, an avid bowler, and enjoyed traveling across the United States, and at times resided in Arizona, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Gene is survived by his wife, Nancy Huebner Nevin; three sons and two daughters, Murray Nevin Jr., David Nevin, Erick Nevin, Robin Pritts and Leodra Bowdell; stepchildren, Robbin Witkowski, and Aaron and Terry Lynn Blaine; 13 grandchildren; his mother; and three sisters, Gayle Martin, Carol Gillinger and Vivian Farnham.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Howland Township Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel-Cortland.
