WARREN - Isabel Marie Rek, 95, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at Bayfront Medical Center In St. Petersburg, Fla.
Isabel was born on April 24, 1917, in Warren. She was the daughter of Mateo and Antoinette Candelmo Carillio (Cariglia). She was born and raised in Warren and graduated from Warren G. Harding High School. She also attended Trumbull Business College.
On March 30, 1940, she married her husband, the late August Joseph Rek, who passed away on July 2, 1978.

Isabel was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and her gentle and positive spirit were inspirations to all who knew her. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother and loved to be surrounded by her family, relatives and friends. She was a ray of sunshine everywhere she went.
She was a deeply religious person and was a lifelong member of St. James Church. She enjoyed participating in the Altar and Rosary Society, the Over Fifty Club and will always be remembered for making endless numbers of cookies for Bingo Night at the church. In her later years she enjoyed attending S.C.O.P.E. Adult Day Care and also traveling to Florida to spend the winter months with her daughter and family.
Isabel will be deeply missed by her sons and daughters-in-law Paul (Ramonda) Rek of Howland and Bill (Cindy) Rek of Warren; and her daughter and son-in-law Zoe Ann (Carlos) Odell of St. Petersburg, Fla. She also leaves her grandchildren, Ryan, Marc, Tina and Lisa Rek and Kevin (Ambar) and Jessica Odell. In addition to her grandchildren, she leaves her great-grandson Enzo Carlos Odell. She also is survived by her brother Joseph Carillio of Fowler and sister-in-law Josephine Carillo.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Carmella Gill and brothers Andrew and Paul "Cookie" Carillio
Friends will be received 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, and 9 to 9:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. James Church with co-celebrants the Rev. James P. Walker and the Rev. Charles W. Crumbley officiating.
Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Cortland.
