Mr. and Mrs. Richard R. Thomas of Warren are announcing the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Erika Marie Thomas, to Christopher N. Losnegard, son of Mr. Jeff Losnegard and Debra Losnegard of Seattle.
The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Howland High School, a 2004 graduate of John Carroll University with a bachelor of arts degree in communication, a 2008 graduate of Miami University, Ohio, with a master of arts degree in communication studies, and graduated in 2011 with her Ph.D. in communication studies from Wayne State University in Detroit.
Thomas is an assistant professor and director of forensics in the Department of Human Communication Studies at California State University, Fullerton, where she coaches the nationally competitive speech and debate team.

Christopher Losnegard
Mr. Losnegard is a 2003 graduate of Gonzaga University with a bachelor's degree in political science and history. He has lived in Los Angeles since 2003, where he works as a television producer.
They couple will exchange marriage vows in an afternoon wedding ceremony to be held July 27, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fullerton, Calif. A reception will take place at the historic Villa Del Sol courtyard in downtown Fullerton. Parents of the bride will honor the couple at a reception on Aug. 11, 2012, at DiLucia's in Warren. Invitations will be issued for the ceremony and both receptions.
