The Churchill Park children's summer day camp, which is celebrating its 60th year of offering recreational activities for children, has been going on in Churchill Park since June 11. The camp continues through July 13, and sign-ups are held daily.
Camp is held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Friday at the park pavilion. Sign-ups are held at 9 a.m., and registration is ongoing throughout the duration of the camp.
The theme this year is ''Adventure Continues'' with participants engaging in crafts, sporting activities, crayfish hunting, games, an acting workshop, board games, storytime and guest speakers.

Rosie Rokus Boehlke, program director, said the park becomes the stomping ground for the summer camp, which has been enjoyed for many years by children.
''Thousands of children have enjoyed the program, Boehlke said. ''Many parents and grandparents of our community were Day Camp children themselves,'' she said.
Boehlke also said the camp has been a ''wonderful tradition'' and allows children to reconnect with their classmates during the summer.
Previously, as many as 70 children have attended the camp that is possible through the support of contributions from local businesses and organizations.
The camp is for children ages 5 to 12 at a one time cost of $25 per child. Parents are advised that children may get dirty and should dress accordingly. All children age 5 should be tagged everyday with their name, parents or guardians names and phone number where they can be reached at all times. Children age 5 are not permitted in the creek.
Parents also are reminded to send a snack and beverage for their children as there is no drinking fountain in the park. Pick-up time is promptly at 11:45 a.m.
She said guest speakers and entertainers, such as musicians, dancers, farmers and others are being sought to take part.
