The Trumbull County Farm Bureau recently sponsored an art contest in order to get the students thinking about agriculture.
Students in the LaBrae Intermediate and High School were asked to create drawings on the theme "What Does Agriculture Mean to You?"
The response was overwhelming.
After much deliberation, three winners were chosen in two categories.
The intermediate school winners were, first place, Tehya Clay, fifth grade; second place, Joseph Pratt, fourth grade; and third place, Kristen Corvin, third grade.
The high school winners were, first place, Julia Chambers; second place, Nick Percich; and third place, Daizi Jones.
Each of the students was recognized at an awards ceremonies before the end of the school year, receiving a gift card for Dairy Queen.
The first place artworks will be made into protective book covers to be used by the students of LaBrae when school resumes in the fall.
