HOWLAND - The Howland Township summer youth sport and recreation program is in full swing and will continue throughout the summer.
The programs offer a variety of recreational activities for children ages 6 to 13.
There is no camp July 4.
Classes, which have been running since June 5, are held from 9 a.m. to noon at the township park, Howland Middle School and Howland High School with bowling at Echo Lanes on Elm Road.
In addition to swimming and bowling, classes include arts and crafts, scrapbooking, FunTastic sports, basketball, wrestling, track and field, football, cheerleading, tennis, golf, volleyball, soccer and outdoor adventures.
For the week of June 25 to 29, three classes have been scheduled: arts and crafts at the middle school, basketball at the park and wrestling at the high school.
Camps are staffed by local experts who are qualified in each recreational activity and consist of quality teachers, coaches, students and volunteers from the township, local communities, colleges and universities.
One week of camp will cost $20 for Howland residents and $35 for non-residents. All campers should bring a water bottle and a snack if needed.
Registration forms are available at the township administration building. Completed forms should be returned to the administration building, 205 Niles Cortland Road, during normal business hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, call 330-856-2340.
