William S. Sabo 1931-2012

BUENA PARK, Calif. - William S. Sabo, 81, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, at home.

He was born March 11, 1931, in Clymer, Pa., the son of Steve Sabo and Julia Kunzwald Sabo, and moved to California in 1968 from Ohio.

He retired in 1993 from Certified Grocers of California as a maintenance foreman after 23 years and had previously worked at Luntz Iron & Steel in Warren.

He was a member of St. Irenaeus Church in Cypress, Calif. He enjoyed traveling and playing his accordion.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the infantry.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Horvath Sabo, whom he married married May 5, 1951; children Irene ''Julie'' (Ed) Stetser of Chula Vista, Calif., Nancy (Greg) Wadel of La Mesa, Calif., Jane (Bill) Sperry of Anaheim, Calif., and Susan Figueroa of Paso Robles, Calif.; two grandchildren, Fred Guinaugh of San Diego and Eric (Jolyn) Sperry of Fullerton, Calif.; a brother, John Sabo of Warren; and a sister, Marge Beleny of Mineral Ridge.

Deceased are his parents; and four sisters, Elizabeth Sabo, Anne Nagg, Beatrice Nagy and Betty Timko.

Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel. Burial will be after the calling hours in All Souls Cemetery, where a service will then take place.

Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
