Chuck and Erla McDermott of Braceville were the honored guests at their 50th wedding anniversary celebration on June 16, 2012, at First Assembly of Pentecost Hall in Braceville. The event was hosted by the couple's two sons, Rob (Debbie) McDermott of Corning, N.Y., and Tim (Lynne) McDermott of Mantua.
Chuck and Erla Shaw were married June 16, 1962, at Union Presbyterian Church in Clintonville, Pa. They are lifelong residents of Trumbull County.
Chuck served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier the USS Saratoga, then worked for 39 years for Airco/BOC Gases, retiring June 1, 2002. He also served for many years as a volunteer fireman for the Braceville Fire Department.

Erla worked at various office positions as well as being a homemaker.
The couple are active members of Braceville United Methodist Church. They enjoy traveling, doing volunteer work, and spending time with their families and six grandchildren.
